The stellar Bernal Jazz Quintet:

Jim Zimmerman (vibes)
Jim's career has spanned from his work with
Vince Guaraldi to his long tenure with Dame
Cleo Laine and Dianne Schuur.  His recording
credits include Cleos Grammy-winning Cleo
Laine Live At Carnegie Hall and Vinces
Peanuts special: Its Arbor Day Charlie Brown.  
Other recording credits: David Byrne's "True
Stories", "Rumblefish", Robin William's
"Bicentennial Man".

Michael Gold (sax)
A seasoned jazz saxophone player, he also
plays with The Michael Gold Quartet, guitarist
Bruno Pelletier-Bacquaert, and the SFJAZZ
Monday Night Band.  Michael is a writer, editor,
and publishing consultant, served as the editor
of Strings magazine, and edited several books
on improvisation and arranging. Recently he
wrote an article for Newsweek about the
anniversary of A Love Supreme, John
Coltranes seminal recording.

Derek James  (trombone)
Regarded as a consummate all rounder and
studio session player, a member of the Pacific
Mambo Orchestra since its inception, he's
performed with Mazacote, Avance, the
Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, innumerable
local and touring bands of every genre, and on
Broadway shows. Classically trained at the
University of Wisconsin at Madison, he played
in the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, the
Madison Symphony Orchestra, and the
Shreveport Symphony Orchestra before
moving to San Francisco in 1993.

Derek James  (trombone)

Curt Moore  (drums)
is co-leader of the 5 piece Latin-Jazz
group, Soul Sauce. Curt has over 100
recordings to his credit and has shared
the recording studio stage with a wide
variety of artists including Francisco
Aguabella, Count Baise Orchestra, Chuck
Berry, Ray Brown, Joyce Cooling, John
Clayton, Richard Davis, Ian Dogole, The
Different Drums, Pete Escovedo, Bruce
Forman, Lola Falana, Vic Firth, Mimi Fox,
Jimmy Haslip, Jimmy Heath, Jackie and
Roy, Andy Narell, Patrick Palomo,
Bernadette Peters, Rufus Reed, Francios
Rabatth, San Jose Jazz Orchestra, Turtle
Island String Quartet, The Zone, Wild
Mango.  Curt is currently teaching in The
Bay Area schools and at his studio in
South San Francisco.

Chuck Bennett  (bass)
Bassist Chuck Bennett has toured with
Louis Bellson, the Beach Boys, and
Maynard Ferguson. In California, he has
played with Tom Scott and Art Pepper. He
has extensive recording experience in Los
Angeles and San Francisco for films,
commercials, live theatre, and live radio.
